Um...so, I saw it! A few days ago, even.

Turns out there's not much to say about it, really. Oops!

Oh, one thing that came to mind, and this is a bitter victory at best: blogs have come a LONG way since 2002. Like, the Julie/Julia Project was an objectively successful example, and it really truly sucked! It was just a bunch of text! It was a "food blog" that never had any pictures of awesome food and instead was actually about some chick's feelings. What a bunch of crap!

I mean, this blog is kind of a bunch of crap, too, right? It's also just a bunch of text. And it doesn't even MEAN anything - it's just a big dumb joke. But...check this shit out:

WHOA! BOB! HELP! BOB!!!!!

Totally worth the visit, now, right? Point being...the future is awesome!

Anyway...I'm moving on. Join me next week for my new project, The Time Traveler's Wife & Dave

July 28th, 2009

The Movie:

Julie & Julia, written and directed by Nora Ephron (When Harry Met Sally, Sleepless in Seattle, um...Mixed Nuts) and starring Meryl Streep and Amy Adams. Based on two true stories, Julie & Julia intertwines the lives of two women who, though separated by time and space, are both at loose ends...until they discover that with the right combination of passion, fearlessness and butter, anything is possible.

The Contender:

Copywriter by day, renegade foodie, musician, fake DJ, failed blogger and occasional moviegoer by night. Too old for theatre, too young for children, and too bitter for anything else, Dave Wayne Daniels was looking for a challenge. And in Julie & Julia & Dave he found it. Risking his marriage, his job, and his cats’ well-being, he has signed on for a deranged assignment.

10 days. 1 movie. One guy (and maybe his wife, if she wants to go with him) and an air-conditioned multiplex. And popcorn, too. And maybe a fountain Coke.

How far will it go? We can only wait. And wait. And wait…..and then stop paying attention again. 'Cause it's really not that great an idea at all.....

Julie & Julia & Dave. Coming soon to a computer terminal near you.
